Entertainment Program
Part of the philosophy of the Saarbrücken Conferences on Foreign Language Teaching is to provide our conference presenters and participants as well as our guests with a range of opportunities for professional and personal exchange and networking at enjoyable get-togethers in an international atmosphere.

A (self-financed) dinner get-together is planned to set the tone for the evening prior to the Fifth Saarbrücken Conference on Foreign Language Teaching. Presenters and participants who will already have arrived in Saarbrücken by then are cordially invited to join the warm-up dinner, which will be held at the "Manin" restaurant (4, Faktorei-Street, Saarbrücken) on 29 October at 7 p.m. (The restaurant is located within walking distance to the Saarbrücken Main Train Station.)

All the conference presenters and participants registered by 31 August 2019 will be officially welcomed at an evening reception which will take place at the State Chancellery of Saarland. Apart from official speeches, our guests will have the pleasure to be indulged in classical music and to enjoy canapés and refreshments over small talk.

Finally, on the evening of the second day of the conference, a pleasant atmosphere will be laid out for our guests to exchange and share personal and academic experience as well as to do networking in the setting of musical pleasure and culinary delights. Participants and guests will be welcomed to a buffet evening with live music entertainment – another much-loved conference tradition! This event will either take place in the lobby of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, a wonderful epitome of 18th century Baroque beauty.
